About Me

I lead research at Backpack Interactive, directing research strategy, methodology, and team development for 20+ digital products serving the education sector.

My work has informed a $1.6M platform consolidation decision, helped companies increase conversion by 15%, and prevented $200k in misdirected spend.

I provide strategic consulting and research advisory work with B2B SaaS and HealthTech companies.

My role spans the full scope: setting research strategy, building research operations, managing teams, conducting end-to-end studies, and translating findings into the strategic recommendations that reshape product direction.

Before I was a designer or researcher, I was a teacher in New York City public schools, specializing in learning disabilities and working with students with dyslexia. I used reading and writing as tools for inclusion — which, in hindsight, is exactly what this work is: finding the way a person actually experiences something, and translating that into something the people building things can act on.

I do both halves of the job. I run research that reframes what teams think they're building — generative studies, longitudinal research, mixed methods, research that changes the decision not just the report. And I design the experiences that come out the other side — from information architecture and interaction design through high-fidelity UI and design systems. Six years at Backpack Interactive working across EdTech, health and wellness, and enterprise platforms. Most of that time doing both at once.

I'm also a published author—my middle grade novel The Ice House was published by Little Brown Young Readers. I write regularly about research, learning, product strategy, and organizational decision-making.

My current focus is AI and emerging technology. I've been building with AI tools — I used Claude Code to develop original research tooling, and I've spent time as a data annotator evaluating AI-generated content for quality and ethics.

I hold an M.S. in Childhood and Special Education from Hunter College and a B.A. from New York University.
